His shenanigans, more often than not, turned to pessimistic rantings.
The kids would eventually grow tired of listening to him and
Run out to play with the family dogs.
Harpo wasn’t like other happy clowns.
He came from a place where his family
Didn’t show him much love or kindness.
Harpo left his home at the age of 14 and hopped
Onto a bus and never looked back.
Someone out there somewhere would see him
And be able to answer all of his questions.
Nothing in the Universe made sense to Harpo.
He Had his horn, and rather than speak, he’d honk
His answers to people. They never listened when he spoke anyhow
What’s the point of talking if nobody listens?
He made his way to the mountains
He had heard that the woman who gave birth to him lived there.
She had given him away when he was still a baby.
How could anyone love me, he thought. My own mother can’t love me.
Upon finding his mother in a cabin in the mountains, she hugged him
Apologized for leaving and gave him a beautiful quartz crystal stone.
Harpo laughed at the silly stone and thrust it into his baggy pocket.
He named the stone ‘owl’.
Harpo had become a very disbelieving clown.
He was angry at the world and at others who had nice parents.
One night he and his friend Birk were walking up the dark
mountain road late at night.
The stars were so close and so bright.
A shooting star shot across the sky, then another, and another.
Within a 20-minute walk, they counted 35 shooting stars.
Harpo didn’t believe in anything,
Yet, he felt something stirring inside the pit of his belly, and his heartfelt elated.
He asked his friend Birk to please give him some privacy.
He felt he should talk to the universe and thank it for the amazing light show.
Harpo was standing by a picnic table, and there was a tall stool
next to the table by a big round trash can..
Birk had gone inside the trailer to say hi to his big brother,
so Harpo was all alone outside, and the stars looked like he could just pluck them from the sky.
Harpo reached into his pocket, trying to think what one might say to the universe
and how one would go about such a thing.
He felt Owl in his pocket and reached for the crystal,
Until he felt it buzzing in his hand.
He took the crystal out and held it high above his head.
He thanked the universe for the shooting star show
it was really impressive,
But…
Yes, there’s always butt in a clown's world.
Harpo wanted to see something really spectacular as proof that the Universe was listening to him. He held owl up and in clockwise large circular rotations around his head, he repeatedly said,
show me your magic, showing me your magic. Show me your magic-- Sahod--dd- ohhhhhhh !
Harpo stood frozen and directly above him, about 10 feet over his head, was a disk-shaped
Aircraft. There was a big whitish and yellow light in the center, and around that there were smaller different-colored lights that blinked simultaneously in order. Around the outside rim were smaller white lights.
Harpo couldn’t move. In a split second, the disk turned sideways and hurled at his face, making only a slight swishing sound as is flew right over the top of Harpo’s body after he had tripped over the stool and fallen to the ground onto his back, trapped between the overturned stool and the large trash can.
It flew the entire length of his body and then headed for the mountains in the distance. Harpo called for Birk, who ran out just in time to see it before it disappeared over the mountains.
Wow! That’s a UFO shouted Birk! You see it too, said Harpo. Yeah, I see it! So cool!
The two friends ran home, and once there, Harpo’s mom was very angry with him.
Why are you angry, asked Harpo? I was only gone for an hour.
Harpo’s mom pointed to the clock. Really Harpo she said an hour?
Harpo was confused and astonished because he had in fact been gone for six whole hours!. Harpo couldn’t make sense of any of it and as days passed he was noticing a change in his body, heart, and mind.
He became hungry for spiritual answers and the truth and would read any book he thought would give him the answers he had been seeking for so long.
Harpo became so calm and happy now that he knew a higher energy was looking out for him.
. All he needed to do was believe in himself
and know that he could do anything he set his mind to.
From that day on Harpo was a hit at the children’s parties.
Everyone wanted Harpo to delight the kids with his funny antics.
He was happy knowing that in this big wide universe. He was right where he was supposed to be. Harpo smiled as he honked and waddled his way around the room and added love and laughter to the festivities.
